NEW! An excellent Kansas heirloom watermelon from 1964. Simply the ideal watermelon: large size, very crisp juicy flesh with excellent sweetness. Has a rosey perfume and superior texture. Handles disease pressure well. Resilient and produces in adverse conditions. Watermelons average about 20-24 lbs or bigger, they get quite large and are circular in shape. This is a selected variety that has been chosen for disease resistance and excellent fruit quality.
On our trial farm we’ve trialed a number of open-pollinated watermelons and narrowed it down to this one. We also trial them in wet, humid conditions where watermelons are challenging.
