$6.99$19.99

Description

NEW!  An excellent Ohio 1920 heirloom dent corn that makes excellent flour for baking.   In just 100 days, this vibrant blue corn variety reaches maturity. Displays impressive uniformity as a semi-dent corn, it showcases solid blue ears atop 10 ft. stalks, often 2 ears per stalk.  Very strong grower and heavy production!

Originally intended for meal and feed purposes, this corn surprises with a higher sugar content compared to typical dent corns, allowing for fresh consumption in its milk stage. Makes a delightful sweet cornmeal, producing speckled blue and white flour. Farmers feeding this to their chickens have reported increased consumption, egg laying, and weight gain in their poultry.

Outstanding Corn Rootworm resistance, and remarkable tolerance to crowding and smut, surpassing many other open-pollinated corns, this variety thrives in various conditions. Has done very well in central KY under no-till conditions.  An impressive and very resilient corn variety.

Naturally Grown.  2023 crop.
