Description
An excellent cold hardy and productive new fig! Early ripening of delicious, dark purple figs. “Discovered” in Bethlehem, PA and noted for being particularly cold hardy as it frequently survives the Zone 6b winters there without substantial dieback. The fruit is early ripening, has sweet delicious flavor, and extreme productivity. Similar in flavor, production and cold tolerance to ‘Chicago Hardy’. Appears to be a Mt. Etna type fig. Has done well for several zone 6 KY fig growers, including in our own trials. Thought to be a Greek variety.
