Description

Wow!  ‘Smith’ is trending hard right now, and the amazing quality speaks for itself.  ‘Smith’ is one of the best all around figs available. This elusive Louisiana heirloom fig is delicious, with a rich, jammy berry flavor.  It’s also highly productive, and also disease and insect resistant. Thus it is superior for growing in the Southeast due to rot-resistance in wet weather, and a “closed eye” which means it doesn’t get buggy or sour as easily. An excellent fig for backyard and market growing!  It has performed quite well in our KY trials in our high tunnel and the rich, jammy figs are top notch.

If you live in the South, this will be one of your favorites!  Greenish-yellow skin with rich, deep red flavorful sweet flesh inside.  Originally a Becknel Nursery introduction.  Rare.
