Taka produces cylindrical, medium-large berries have a slightly milder flavor than other cultivars, on moderately vigorous plants that have a more spreading shape. Mid-season bloomer, can pair with early or late varieties. It's a resilient Japanese honeyberry that thrives in warmer areas as well as cold. Heavy production, plump oval berries, and nice, less intense, sweeter flavor. These are currently extra large, 3-4' tall, 2-year old field-grown plants, ready to bear fruit!

RECOMMENDED FOR ORGANIC GROWING
Pollination: Chito and other mid-season varieties.
Disease Resistance: Poor airflow can lead to mildew on the leaves.
Ripening: Mid-May or early June most areas. Mid-Season Bloom.
Uses: Excellent fresh eating, great for freezing, jams, pies, etc. Makes great fruit leather, and a favorite of children.
Planting Site: Well-drained, rich soil, with full sun in northern locations and partial sun or 1/2 day sun in the Southeast.
