When can I purchase grafted pawpaw trees?
Grafted pawpaws become available typically in mid June and July. Pawpaw trees are shipped in summer. We sell out extremely fast. Join the waitlist on our homepage to be notified. We also sell Ultra Select pawpaw seedlings, Ultra Select pawpaw seed, and premium quality pawpaw scion wood.
Are all your products non-GMO?
Yes! All of our products are 100% free of genetically modified and bioengineered organisms. We firmly reject genetically modified products and will never plant, sell, or distribute any GMO plants or products. We also do not use any agricultural products in our nursery that are GMO.
How does shipping work? When will my order ship?
Orders placed November to February will ship in spring when the weather is safe for shipping live, perishable plants. Spring shipping begins in February to early March for orders headed to the Deep South (FL, TX, LA, Gulf Areas), then West Coast orders, followed by most other regions shipping in March-April. Far northern and states (ME, VT, ND, etc) generally ship in April. We cannot hold bare-root plant orders past April 30th.
Orders placed during potted plant season (May-October) generally ship within 1-5 business days. We ship the majority of orders via UPS. Small seed orders (not pawpaw seed) ship USPS. See our TERMS page for more information on shipping.
What does Naturally Grown mean? Are you USDA organic?
“Naturally Grown” means the plants were produced at our PHN nursery, using only organic inputs and zero synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, fungicides, or herbicides.
We at PHN are thoroughly dedicated to organic agriculture, preserving our local environment, and engaging in beneficial practices and effective, non-toxic methods of commercial plant production. Our organic practices and beliefs have never once wavered, yet we are not USDA Certified Organic (we generally dislike bureaucracy, lol).
Where are your plants produced?
All of the naturally-grown plants are PHN produced here on site in Kentucky! We also partner with other eastern USA family farms to be able to offer additional types of high quality conventional plants.
