A superior, very large and productive strain of this interesting, native, edible tuber producing sunflower relative.  Produces exceptionally large, plump, edible, inulin-rich, potato-like tubers.  Easy to grow and will spread underground.  Good wildflower as well, very lovely sunflower like blooms return every year. 

NOTE: If ordered between October-May you will receive 2-4 perennial tubers only, as the annual plant parts die back and are not present during winter. 

Recommended for Organic Growing

Uses: Excellent edible tubers, wildlife, pollinators.

Sun Exposure: Full sun to half day sun (full sun is best).

Blooms:  Blooms late and avoids frosts.  Ornamental and pollinator value.

Disease and trouble free species.

Native USA plant.

USDA Zones: 3-8

Plant Size:  Approximately 1-2' Tall in 9 inch tree pot.  Feb-May shipped as bare-root tubers.
