Especially delicious and productive long-fruited mulberry. Berries have that excellent sweet-tart intense mulberry flavor. Has strong resistance to diseases common in the Southeast (see below). Excellent quality, large mulberries ripen for a long season, up to several months! Silk Hope mulberry is similar to 'Illinois Everbearing' in flavor, appearance, and fruiting habit. The main differences are that 'Silk Hope' fruits are a bit softer and sweeter and the ripening window is shorter than 'Illinois Everbearing', but the disease resistance is better for the South.
A J Bullard, a North Carolina fruit enthusiast, found the original wild tree thriving in Silk Hope, NC. An excellent choice for the South because it is resistant to popcorn disease, a serious fungal disease mulberries can get in the South. Reports say it is very resistant.

Mulberries grow very fast under good conditions and even the small size should be bearing fruit within a few seasons. Our mulberries are all high quality, cuttings-propagated.

Pollination: Mulberries need no pollination to set fruit.
