'Shively Sugar' is a very sweet black fruited mulberry with prolific production of medium sized delicious berries. If you're looking for a semi-dwarf mulberry that tastes super-sweet and has very little "tang" or tartness, this is the one for you. Produces nice, plump mulberries in great abundance. Perfect home mulberry variety. Very productive, just drips with ripe fruit around early-mid-June. Berries are soft and juicy with a nice texture. They freeze very well and are a great cultivar for fresh eating or processing into anything calling for berries. These berries are so soft and sweet they cannot travel far, and will be hard to travel further than from the tree to your hand to your mouth.
Very productive and hardy semi-dwarf mulberry tree first discovered by us thriving in unfavorable conditions in a derelict urban jungle in Louisville (Shively), KY, around 2014. Semi-Dwarf size means this mulberry will attain approximately 20' x 20' without pruning. Zero care fruit tree. Peaceful Heritage Nursery Exclusive! Formerly called 'Madhava'. Morus alba.
NATURALLY GROWN - no synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, fungicides, neo-nictinoids, or other pesticides or toxic ag chemicals used at our nursery
