Impressively large and very sweet berries! 'Sweet-Ark® Immaculate' is a new, late-season, thornless blackberry variety. Produces exceptionally large, firm, very sweet blackberries perfect for backyard and marketing purposes. Patented and released by the University of Arkansas, their latest impressive blackberry release of 2024. Floricane-fruiting.
This new variety has good yield potential comparable to 'Osage' and 'Caddo'. Berries are medium-large and very firm, with postharvest potential similar to 'Ouachita' and 'Caddo' and slightly superior to 'Osage and Sweet-Ark® 'Ponca'. Fruit of Sweet-Ark® Immaculate is expected to perform comparably to other Arkansas blackberry cultivars for storage and shipping. In Arkansas, the first harvest date is June 26, 11-12 days after 'Osage' and 'Caddo'. Sweet-Ark® Immaculate is intended to be a complement to 'Navaho' and 'Von' in late season fresh market blackberry production. These plants are currently 1 yr old 4-6" tall PLUGS .
Recommended for ORGANIC GROWING
Uses: Excellent fresh eating, cobblers, pies, smoothies, jams, excellent wine.
Ripens: Late Season (Around mid July in KY).
Site Requirements: Blackberries grow best in full sun. Well-draining, rich soil is a must. Avoid wet areas. Primocane blackberries do not handle intense late summer heat well.
Pollination: Self-pollinating but better yields with other blackberry varieties present.
Resistant to: Strongly disease resistant to Rosette (Double Blossom).
