An epic 2016 release by the U of Saskatchewan.  This one stopped researchers in their tracks due to the huge berries and epic flavor.  Great blend of tangy and sweet flavors.  Huge, soft berries with obviously larger size than older honeyberry cultivars.  Upright growth habit.  Ancestry is 50% Japanese, 50% Russian.

RECOMMENDED FOR ORGANIC GROWING

Pollination:  Late blooming.  Peak bloom is 4-7 days after Tundra and Indigo series.  'Boreal' series and other late bloomers are ideal pollinators. Requires about 1000-1200 chill hours.

Disease Resistance:  Resistant to spring frosts and are not troubled by much.  Resistant to sunburn and powdery mildew.  Poor airflow can lead to mildew on the leaves.

Ripening: Early Season (Mid-May or early June most areas).

Uses: Excellent fresh eating, great for freezing, jams, pies, etc. Makes great fruit leather, and a favorite of children.

Planting Site: Well-drained, rich soil, with full sun in northern locations and partial sun or 1/2 day sun in the Southeast.

Plant Size:  1-2' tall Start in 9 inch tree pot.
