An excellent cold hardy and productive new fig!  Early ripening of delicious, dark purple figs. “Discovered” in Bethlehem, PA and noted for being particularly cold hardy as it frequently survives the Zone 6b winters there without substantial dieback. The fruit is early ripening, has sweet delicious flavor, and extreme productivity. Similar in flavor, production and cold tolerance to 'Chicago Hardy'.  Appears to be a Mt. Etna type fig.  Has done well for several zone 6 KY fig growers, including in our own trials.  Thought to be a Greek variety.

NATURALLY GROWN – no synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, fungicides, neo-nictinoids, or other pesticides or toxic ag chemicals used at our nursery 

Uses:Makes an excellent dried fig. Also top-notch fresh eating, good for jams and cooking also.

Resistant to: Figs are remarkably free of disease and insects.  This fig shows good resistance to cold and humidity/rain.


Site Selection: Well-drained soil. Full sun location.


Pollination:This fig requires no pollination in order to set fruit.

Plant Size:CHOOSE SIZE. Bare-Root shipped February-April. May-October shipped potted in special tree pots.

USDA Zones 8-10.  Good success reported in zone 6b+.
