Hazelnuts are a desirable nut for both flavor and the small shrub size of the plants. We offer high quality, field-grown Corylus americana hazelnut seedlings that are produced from Kentucky-grown seed. They will have large robust roots and are seedlings from resilient and productive KY specimens. In our experience, native hazelnuts grow easily, especially in seasons without too many late freezes. The long, graceful catkins are attractive in the landscape. These produce a thicket of many stems and are great for wildlife, as well as honeybees that forage the pollen.
Plant these approximately 10-15' apart in full sun.
