Native plum (Prunus americana) is a small, hardy tree related to the cultivated plums. The fruits are small, firm, often tasty and come in abundance. More than one seedling are needed to cross pollinate in order to get fruit. These trees are very fast growing and perfect for supporting wildlife or making jams. The fruits are smaller than cultivated plums. The white blooms in spring are lovely and the striped bark is very attractive. Very easy and carefree. Thicket-forming unless mowed around the base of the tree. Can tolerate wetter sites. CANNOT SHIP TO CA, WA, OR.
