Generally considered the best quality American persimmon. Exceptionally large, sweet, high quality fruit. It is a seedling from the Cornell University breeding program grown out by John Gordon of Amherst NY. Produces very large fruit, ripens in late August here in Kentucky, has few seeds. Excellent eating quality, also good for processing. Ripens long before frost and loses astringency well.
