Description

Outstanding flavor and adaption. A pear for the Deep South! Will not succumb to fireblight like so many others. Tolerates hot, humid, Southern conditions better than many. Produces large, long-necked drop-shaped fruit with outstanding quality and flavor similar to the excellent ‘Magness’. Sweet, buttery, spicy, complex flavor, very juicy, with no grit. Some say it’s the best tasting pear variety, period.

Cold hardy to zone 5! If you’ve had trouble with pears due to disease and fireblight, plant Warren. This pear is becoming popular out West, including in CA as a high-quality, excellent market pear. Highly worth planting. Will succeed in Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, northern Florida, etc, where many other pears would fail. Needs other pears nearby for strong cross-pollination.
