Summercrisp Pear

NEW!!!  Crisp, sweet flesh on this long-keeping, very cold-hardy, and disease-resistant heirloom pear!  Ripens early in mid-August and stays crisp in texture, hence the name “Summer Crisp”.  Tree is resistant to fire blight.  Harvest when the fruits are still green but have some red blush to them.  Keeps up to 2 months in storage.  Originated in Caledonia, Minnesota in 1933, hardy down to zone 4.

Recommended for Organic Growing

Uses: Fresh eating, storage, and canning.

Resistant to: Fireblight and other pear diseases. 

Pollination: Ayers, Sunrise, Moonglow or most other pears.

Rootstock:  Calleryana Pear

Plant Size: One-Year, typically unbranched, Bare-Root tree 3-4′ tall.
