Large, sweet, one-inch teardrop shaped berries on a large thornless bush! Fruit ripens to pink-red when ripe. Captivator gooseberry has good flavor and solid diseases resistance. Extremely cold hardy to zone 2. Old heirloom variety from 1949, still popular today.
Gooseberries do best in areas without extremely hot summers. If planting in a very hot summer climate, plant where it can get partial shade, such as a western or eastern side of the house or near a small tree.
Uses: Fresh eating, jams, jellies, desserts.
