Description

Will return in Summer 2024!

Cold hardy and very productive of medium sized dark purple-brown figs with a rich, syrupy dark reddish pulp of outstanding flavor and sweetness. The fruits need to sit as long as possible on the tree for maximum sweetness. The flavor is memorable, rich, distinctive and outstanding. Just gets loaded with dark purple figs. Strong, vigorous grower, also shows promising cold hardiness in zone 6 with protection. An excellent new selection. This appears to be is a “Mt. Etna” type fig which is in a class all very similar to ‘Chicago Hardy’ in fruit qualities, hardiness, and habits. These originated in mountainous regions and are superior for cold winter climates. A great new selection for cold-hardy areas.
